Granger Smith & Wife Amber Expecting Baby 21 Months After Death Of Son

Granger Smith and wife Amber are expanding their family.

On Thursday (March 11), the country singer, 41, and his wife, 40, took to Instagram to announce that they're expecting a baby boy. "We're pregnant. I don't have many words for this video. Life isn't perfect. Sometimes it's beat up and broken but it's NEVER hopeless. God promises that," Smith said in reference to their son River, who died in a drowning accident at home in June 2019. "Our story isn't finished yet, and neither is yours! Through our suffering and joy, God's glory radiates through it all! A new Smith boy is dude in August."

Over on Amber's account, she shared her gratitude for a higher power, writing, "God has made a way we never thought possible. If I've learned anything over the last two years, it's that I do not have as much control as I think I do...Never did I think at 39 I would be blessed with expecting another baby boy. These past couple of years have been so rough but also so full of so much joy, hope, healing, growing and grace from God. Lord, I pray that our story can speak life to someone else who may be suffering to never give up hope. To surrender their burdens to you. To trust you even when it hurts."

She also shared some words directed at her late three-year-old son. "Sweet Riv, because of the beautiful life you lived, we are forever changed and we will continue honoring your big, little legacy until we come home to you," she continued. "To God we give all the glory and we can't wait to meet our new little boy August 2021."

News of their expectant son arrives 21 months after the Smith family lost their youngest member. The pair has two children: Lincoln, 7, and London, 9.
