Miranda Lambert To Be Inducted Into The National Cowgirl Hall Of Fame

Miranda Lambert has been selected for the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame's class of 2021. The country star is one of five inductees who will officially join the hall in April.

Other inductees include Pop Chalee, a Native American painter whose works are known for their flat, two-dimensional style, Lavonna "Shorty" Koger, a famous cowboy hat designer, Lari Dee Guy, an eight-time Women's Professional Rodeo Association world champion roper who popularized the slogan "rope like a girl," and Kathryn Kusner, the first American woman to become a licensed jockey.

"We are honored to welcome this outstanding class of inductees and add their remarkable stories and accomplishments to the amazing group of honorees they are joining in the Museum's Hall of Fame," the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame Executive Director Patricia Riley said in a statement. "Congratulations to all."

The 45th annual induction luncheon and ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame was established in 1975 to "honor and celebrate women, past and present, whose lives exemplify the courage, resilience and independence that helped shape the West, and fosters an appreciation of the ideals and spirit of self-reliance they inspire." According the their website, the museum features interactive exhibits, a research library, a photography collection, two theaters and several distance-learning programs.
